Cleaning Drive at Bhimrao Ambedkar Park, RK Puram

Our team visited Bhim Rao Ambedkar Park located in the RK Puram area of New Delhi on the 21st of July. We selected this park after taking into account several qualitative and quantitative factors to deliver maximum impact. Our motive wasn't just to clean the park once and then go away, rather it was cleaning and also educating the regular visitors of the park about the detrimental impacts of littering and the importance of keeping the park clean. Upon visiting the park, all of us immediately got to work by first identifying the areas worst affected by littering. After the initial assessment, we put on our sanitation gear and started collecting garbage and putting it into bags to be disposed of safely later. While we were working, we started interacting with the regular visitors of the park and started assisting us with our cleaning. All in all, we managed to fill up 12 mid-sized garbage bags containing approximately 25kgs of trash. It was lovely to see the enthusiasm from the little children (between 10 and 15) playing in the park, as they stepped forward themselves to help us. We can all proudly say that this was a Saturday morning well spent, giving back to the community.
